Warriors’ Steph Curry: ‘Can Never See Myself Not with’ Klay Thompson, Draymond Green

Following the Golden State Warriors' 118-94 loss to the Sacramento Kings in the No. 9 vs. No. 10 Western Conference play-in game Tuesday, Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry discussed his future with longtime teammates Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Speaking to reporters, Curry said, "I can never see myself not with those two guys," in reference to Thompson and Green: While Curry and Green remain under contract for multiple years, Thompson is set to hit free agency this offseason and could play elsewhere for the first time in his NBA career. Curry, Thompson and Green have all been teammates since the 2012-13 season, which was when Green entered the league as a second-round pick. From 2012 through 2023, the Warriors made nine playoff appearances in 11 seasons. They also ma...

New Hampshire exit poll: Majority of GOP primary voters aren’t MAGA, but most would be satisfied with Trump nomination

The voters who turned out for New Hampshire’s GOP presidential primary on Tuesday were less staunchly conservative and less closely tied to the Republican Party than the electorate in last week’s Iowa caucuses, according to the early results of CNN’s exit poll. But even in a state less naturally inclined to serve as a stronghold for former President Donald Trump, GOP primary voters proved largely willing to embrace him over his remaining rival, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley. About two-thirds of New Hampshire GOP primary voters described themselves as conservative, according to the early results of the exit poll, with about one-quarter calling themselves very conservative. Most said they did not consider themselves a part of the MAGA movement, referring to the “Make America Gre...

Four highlights from the fourth Republican presidential debate in Tuscaloosa

The smallest field yet of GOP candidates faced off Wednesday in the fourth Republican presidential debate of 2023 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with the first salvos of the night aimed at former Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, while former President Donald Trump, who holds a wide lead in polling, held a closed campaign fundraiser in Florida. From the outset, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy had harsh words for Haley, whose poll numbers have been improving after strong performances in the previous debates. She was also endorsed a few days ago by the Koch-funded Americans for Prosperity, and a super PAC supporting her has received big donations from tech and Wall Street financiers. The fourth candidate on stage, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, didn't get a ...

Moon-forming impactor as a source of Earth’s basal mantle anomalies

Seismic images of Earth’s interior have revealed two continent-sized anomalies with low seismic velocities, known as the large low-velocity provinces (LLVPs), in the lowermost mantle1. The LLVPs are often interpreted as intrinsically dense heterogeneities that are compositionally distinct from the surrounding mantle2. Here we show that LLVPs may represent buried relics of Theia mantle material (TMM) that was preserved in proto-Earth’s mantle after the Moon-forming giant impact3. Our canonical giant-impact simulations show that a fraction of Theia’s mantle could have been delivered to proto-Earth’s solid lower mantle. We find that TMM is intrinsically 2.0–3.5% denser than proto-Earth’s mantle based on models of Theia’s mantle and the observed higher FeO content of the Moon. Our mantl...

Matthew Perry Was in a ‘Really Good Place’ Prior to Death, ‘Friends’ Co-Creator Says

“Friends” co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane recalled their last conversations with series star Matthew Perry, who died on Oct. 28 at the age of 54, during an appearance on “Today” Wednesday morning. Kauffman spoke to Perry just two weeks ago, saying: “It was great. He was happy and chipper. He didn’t seem weighed down by anything. He was in a really good place, which is why this seems so unfair.” Perry was found dead in the hot tub of his Los Angeles home, as the L.A. Times reported. No foul play was suspected. When she heard the news, Kauffman was in “utter shock.” “My first impulse was to text him, honestly,” she said, adding: “It’s hard to grasp: one minute he’s here and he’s happy, and then poof. And doing good in the world, really doing good in the world.” “Today...
